TesTex offers inspection services on the generating bank tubes either from the
steam drum or the mud drum for Drum to Drum Boilers.
By utilizing the latest in Remote Field Electromagnetic Technique (RFET) technology using the Eagle Plus System, TesTex can test between 250 to 400
tubes per shift for a standard length boiler.
A flexible probe is inserted into the tube opening in one of the drums and pushed to the tube opening at the other drum. Data is collected as the probe is
withdrawn from the tube.
Typical defects found in boilers are soot blower erosion, flue gas erosion, corrosion, gouging, and pitting. Cracking can also be
detected depending upon depth and orientation.
Tubes with swages can easily be tested with our Octavision System.
This inspection is dry and requires no couplant. TesTex, to date, has inspected over 1,000 boilers. |
