Heat Exchanger Tube Inspection
The Eagle Plus System is utilized to test heat exchanger tubing from the I.D.
A probe is inserted into the tube at one end and pushed through the length of the tube. Data is collected as the probe is withdrawn from the tube at a steady rate. Typical defects found are general corrosion/erosion, pitting and baffle cutting (support plate fretting).
The Eagle Plus System uses single channel probes for quick initial inspection of the tubes. Multi-channel probes with 4, 8, 16 or more sensors are then used to better quantify minute pitting and cracking defects.
The Eagle Plus System uses no magnets or couplant and is capable of testing over 300 tubes in one shift with one system.
Sizes of tubes tested range from 0.5" to 6.0" O.D.
